Toteme’s debut New York City runway show showcased the brand’s minimalist aesthetic and commitment to timeless design. The collection, inspired by the Upper East Side and the brand’s Scandinavian roots, featured a muted color palette of black and white and clean, classic silhouettes. The collection was a study in quiet luxury, dominated by black and white looks that emphasized texture and subtle layering rather than bold colors. Black suedes paired with matte fabrics created a grayscale effect, while tulle hems and soft knits added a delicate touch.

Notable pieces included a black blazer with eyelash-fringe lapels, layered over a sheer tank and white cotton trousers, and a black suede coat softened with white tulle. The interplay between fabrics was central to the collection’s charm, such as the mix of a white knit t-shirt and a tulle maxi skirt. There was also an unexpected romance in the form of floral embroidery and twisted tulle skirts, offering a softer contrast to the otherwise structured silhouettes.

Toteme’s designs focused on creating versatile, day-to-night pieces for busy women, aligning with the brand’s Scandinavian roots and its growing influence in the U.S. The introduction of new accessories, including a scooped wristlet bag and teardrop pendant necklaces, added to the brand’s minimal approach.  Toteme continues to align with its Scandinavian roots, balancing minimalist design with timeless elegance, proving that understated is always the shit.
