The Collina Strada show, titled “Touch Grass,” offered a refreshing blend of playful theatrics presented a more subdued take on the brand’s usual whimsical aesthetic. Designer Hillary Taymour cited the overwhelming news cycle and global events as inspiration for a collection that offered a sense of peace and grounding through fashion.Held in the Marble Cemetery in the East Village, the atmosphere was a perfect balance of whimsy and serenity. Models moved down the runway with graceful, earthy gestures, adorned in ruffled, airy pieces and intricate shell tops, blending femininity with a modern edge. The prints ranged from vibrant, saturated hues to sun-bleached tones, capturing a sense of natural wear and weathering. The show’s soundtrack added a playful touch, with a bossa nova remix of Ashlee Simpson’s “Pieces of Me” reimagined to sing about vegetables. Hillary Taymour’s collection felt like a gentle commentary on the chaotic energy of the world, encouraging reconnection with nature. The event’s charm, coupled with its toned-down maximalism, created a creative escape.
