Titled ‘The Guardians of the Dragon City’, this collection showcased a captivating fusion of Eastern and Western influences, seamlessly blending tradition with modernity. Renowned designer Pei intricately crafted a collection that celebrated the beauty of architecture, drawing inspiration from Gothic elements like pointed towers and arched windows. The garments featured dramatic silhouettes adorned with elaborate embroidery and decadent fabrics, harmonizing strength, structure, and rationality with the human form.
Influenced by Gothic aesthetics, Pei’s bold colour palette of black, red, and gold exuded opulence and grandeur. The black dresses, with their sculptural shapes and intricate embroidery, stood out as striking pieces of art. Employing silks, satins, and velvets, Pei achieved an ethereal quality in her designs. Traditional Chinese elements, including dragon motifs and knotwork, added a cultural depth to the collection.
