The grand spectacle unfolded in Paris today beneath the expansive glass roof of the Grand Palais, where Karl Lagerfeld orchestrated a transformative runway resembling a mesmerizing Garden of Eden. Drawing inspiration from nature, the collection showcased intricate 3D floral embroidery and crystal-adorned epaulettes, set against a backdrop of blooming origami flowers, creating an unparalleled Chanel garden.
The show unfolded in a faux mechanical garden, Mechanically blooming flowers greeted guests, while male-model “gardeners” prepared the runway. Models paraded in vivid hues, resembling delicate flowers in Lagerfeld’s haute couture garden.
Distressed Chanel suits paired with oversized straw hats and knitted sequined granny-style hats. Traditional Chanel ensembles, including shredded jackets and skirts, embraced a mix of block colours. The collection exuded a springtime aura with light colours, floral motifs, and straw couture bonnets, culminating in a wedding dress adorned with flowers, a tulle bonnet, and fingerless gloves.
Chanel’s signature camellias, along with roses, poppies, anemones, and peonies, embellished the garments in a vibrant palette ranging from apple blossom pink to fuchsia, iris, sunshine yellow, black, white, and sap green. The meticulous craftsmanship extended to the tiniest details, with minutely jewelled buttons, beads simulating pollen, and stunningly adorned coat linings.
