Peter Do’s first runway collection was comprised of delicate styling, fine tailoring and diverse silhouettes. The collection was quintessential American combined with rather touching Vietnamese references ( the collection was named ‘Home’). Set against the backdrop of the Manhattan skyline, Do’s showcase affirmed his identity as an Asian-American in a city marred by hate crimes, reflecting his journey from minimalist beginnings to a refined, functional style that resonates with a growing audience.

While Peter is generally regarded as a Minimalist designer there’s nothing minimal about the rather exquisite clothes we saw. Do’s minimalist approach evolved over the years, culminating in a refined collection that pays homage to his heritage and family through traditional influences and meaningful details. Do’s uncomplicated attire exudes an effortless elegance stemming from his tutelage under Phoebe Philo, featuring subdued neutrals lifted by pops of primary hues and juxtaposed with robust accessories and oversized denim.

There seems to be nothing but success on Peter’s horizon and isn’t that what we all want?
