This collection was a sensory overload, blending equestrian and Gibson girl influences with opulent ball gowns, all while celebrating American fashion history. Every look down the catwalk unveiled the grandeur of the equestrian world with the brand’s signature couture craftsmanship.
Galliano cited the late 19th-century women who inspired Charles James known for extravagant shapes that also influenced the ‘New Look’. Adorned in top hats and veils models paraded in impeccably tailored jackets, elaborate peplums and side-saddle-inspired riding skirts. Hand-embroidered ruffled cocktail dresses with chiffon picture hats. Dramatic ball gowns closed the show – Jewel-encrusted and dramatic bodices adorned with extravagant crinoline-style skirts in duchesse satin.
