This collection drew inspiration from Surrealism, evident in its every facet. John Galliano and his team immersed themselves in Surrealist references, from torn paper “windows” reminiscent of Cecil Beaton to artists like Jean Cocteau and Salvador Dalí. The collection featured gender play, eye pins, and shimmering details, all paying homage to Dalí’s iconic works. Surrealism’s unconventional juxtapositions and exploration of the subconscious were central to the collection’s ethos. The collection featured sharp tailoring in a palette of neutral colors, complemented by sleek gowns that exuded elegance. Puffy ballgowns added a touch of drama, subtly incorporating elements of deconstruction for a unique twist on classic silhouettes.
