Titled ’60 Years a Queen,’ explores Victoriana through a queer, club kid lens. Embracing his performative phenomenon, he challenges gender norms and captivates with nonbinary designs. Lace-tailoring, retro cuts, jewel tones, and gender-defying designs challenge boundaries. Blending repurposed fabrics from unexpected sources, Reed’s creations redefine the language of couture. The collection seamlessly merged regal tropes with the art of drag, celebrating the performativity of gender.
Despite being a relative newcomer, Reed managed to put on a show that had all the grandeur and sophistication of a fashion veteran. It’s truly remarkable how Reed’s work resonates with the culture of today and showcases a much-needed unique perspective on fashion.
