Titled ‘Le Splash’, this collection captures the essence of water in fashion. Vibrant blue hues, reminiscent of David Hockney’s art, dominate the runway. Wetsuit-inspired details, life jacket-like puffer vests, and playful cut-outs create a splash. Hyper-colored aquatic colors define the clothes while wave-like bags and terry fabric footwear embrace the beach vibes. The color palette was engaging and the styling was well-planned.
While this was a decent collection, it is still far from the peak Jacquemus had hit a few years prior. Models strutted beach-inspired outfits as they walked along a cobalt-colored runway set directly on the sandy beach; the aesthetics were delicious. The clothes however feel like a diluted inspiration of Jacquemus’s earlier work.
