Collaborating with kinetic sculptor Anthony Howe, Van Herpen brings to life a symphony of movement and grace. From the awe-inspiring sculpture to the rotating wings of the finale dress, every piece is iconic. From ink-like cascades to Rorschach-like patterns, her creations blur the lines between fabric and body. But it’s in their dynamic flow that these pieces truly come alive. Feathers, aluminum, and stainless steel merged to create an otherworldly finale, while iridescent organza craft dreamy pieces.

Through innovative techniques like suminagashi and glitch laser cutting, van Herpen explores the interconnectedness of nature and its intricate systems. “The collection is a hypnotic visualization of nature’s tapestry, the symbiotic cycles of our biosphere that interweave the air, land, and oceans,” Van Herpen told surfacemag.com. The concept of ‘Hypnosis’ captures the intricate and captivating aspects of our surroundings by delving into the delicate patterns and formations found in nature. The collection sure is Hypnotizing.
