This collection was all about the ’80s: massive silhouettes, playful colors, and costumey fabrics. The key takeaway from the clothes were the ruffles – they were everywhere! With nods to fashion history and his own archive, Marc Jacobs’ whimsical creations struck a balance between the outlandish and the sublime. The ensembles drew inspiration from ’80s suits, accentuated with vibrant candy colors and voluminous ruffles. To tie it all together, Jacobs curated a punchy, sugary color palette that enhanced the fantasy element. Towards the end of the show, voluminous dresses cascaded down the catwalk, commanding attention with their grandeur.

This is one of those collections where Marc, at his best, presents a sense of optimism, joy, and whimsy that can only be appreciated by a designer who usually showcases the contrary.
