Versace’s ability to read the line with its 90s iconic moments two today’s GenZ trends it’s commendable. when this collection came out it ruled all over social media and I definitely did my part for it. the clothes were loaded with the brand’s new monogram; an attempt to ride the logomania wave. The monogram was surprisingly quite good – an immersive 3D maze print and versatile colors called ‘La Greca’. The labyrinth-like runway mirrors the monogram and creates a sense of mystery.
The silhouettes were body-hugging, sleek and the styling was thoughtfully layered; there were mini dresses, low-slung skirts, black dresses, vinyl trench coats, shark tailoring and ultra-sexy metallic dresses. The collection had pieces suitable from day to night; versatile pieces you can style for a timeless to a trendy fit. 3 looks in hot pink, red, and yellow were a throwback to a Fall 1991 moment.
But let us talk about the most important aspect of this collection- the try high satin platform heels! Anyone and everyone was only talking obsessing and drooling over these heels. Accessories is where Versace always shines – The opera glove, Monogrammed heels, everyday totes slingbacks among many others. This collection signifies though brilliant work that Donatella has done with Versace. The clothes are not only powerful and badass but to be brazen sensuality Gianni had pioneered. These are clothes for women ready to take charge and I love it!
