Kenzo is Back! A collection full of happy incidences – the show took place at the Galerie Vivienne where Takada founded the house and the year Takada presented his first show was when Nigo was born. It was meant to be! There are a lot of influences that blend beautifully – Nigo brings together some contemporary glam with Japanese heritage. He gives a much-deserved heartfelt tribute to Kenzo Takada while staying true to 2022.
There was a bit of everything here from streetwear to classic Americana and workwear chic to vacation florals. Some recurring motifs were the poppy flower, tiger, plaid, pinstripe and boke flower. The tailoring was crisp and the colors lively. The silhouettes weren’t bound by gender; each look was styled meticulously with sincere originality. Pieces that would elevate one’s wardrobe times a thousand. This feels right.
