Ferragamo just got Sexy! This collection was British-Trinidadian 27-year-old Maximilian Davis’s debut for the house as the creative director. Big changes are that Salvatore is out of the brand name, there’s a new logo and a striking bold red color has been introduced.

Sharp sophisticated tailoring was paired with minimal silhouettes; completely dripping in effortlessness. A smart balance of the brand’s heritage, elegance and street-inspired energy. The collection boasted luxurious textures satin, organza, suede, leather, knits, and chiffon among many. Shades of the sun looked gorgeous on softly draped sheer dresses. An all-red shimmery look is a clear adaptation of Marilyn Monroe’s 1959 red pumps; Hollywood also served as a primary inspiration for this lineup. There were tailored skits suits, airy knitwear, micro shorts, second-skin bodysuits, trenches and some clean everyday basics.

The Ferragamo is clearly moving towards a younger and self-assured way; Perhaps a reflection of Davis himself. This brand revamp is off to a promising start. Welcome to the Maximilian Davis era.
