Viktor & Rolf, known for their extreme, whimsy, avant-grade designs put their clothes on life-size dolls for the first half of the collection. Their power is that they don’t take themselves too seriously. Almost creepy, very cute this collection can incite nightmares in people but only dreams in V&R stans. Original contemporary silhouettes with a sporty edge lead this collection. Geometric patchwork denim adds on to the distressed apocalyptic energy. Mostly made in khaki and olive and pops of orange the collection featured. Jackets ranged from bombers to capes; all with delicate additions of ruffles, bows and puffed sleeves. This collection could be a masterclass in Parka Couture. Oversized collars, asymmetric high-low gowns, rose motifs, colorful patchwork and poofy skater skirts were some favorites. Floor-sweeping ruffled -padded gowns took over the collection towards the end. Viktor & Rolf rarely disappoint.
