Three keywords in this collection – Silhouette, Texture and Tailoring. All three the crown jeweled skills of the hands behind Haute Couture. Chanel pays a tribute to it’s atelier and craftsmanship. In the Grand Palais, the set was the workshops with 78 artisans working in full swing. An intimate insight into the Chanel mystique.

Clothes were quite heavy on tweed in restrained colors. Suits in all shapes and forms, most featuring strong shoulders. Permutations ranged not only in structure but in color and texture. Intricately embroidered skirts suits and coat dresses make up the majority of the collection; the ideal go-to look for Chanel clients. The clothes gradually moved to some gowns and then fancier gowns. The details in this collection were exquisite from the embellishments to sequins and 3D flowers to tulle flowers. Kitten heels ruched boots and fingerless gloves were paired with every look. The final bridal look was blush pink; cropped trousers, a crystal-embellished jacket and a sumptuous feather train. This was a standout collection even for Lagerfeld era Chanel.
