To look like a Maharaja: Givenchy Menswear Fall 2020

by brownfashionagal

One of the most luxe Indian Maharajas inspired this collection.
Yeshwant Rao Holkar II the Maharaja of Indore – A man always dripping in lavish clothes and pristine jewels. As a native of Madhya Pradesh(the state Indore is in), It was also quite a moment for me to see him being referenced in Givenchy.

This collection had almost couture level cuts and silhouettes paired with master tailoring. From double-breasted suits to biker jackets and oversized sweaters to relaxed shirts, this collection was quite democratic in its appeal. This was menswear at its best – immaculate tailoring, sharp cuts and luxurious layering. CWK’s Givenchy was short and sweet and it is dearly missed. This collection is just a reminder of her potential that was snatched away for streetwear.
