The collection was Simons’s idea of elegance and Couture(somewhat) for men. Filled with punk, rock, 80, underground references there was a more enthusiastic approach seen in the previously overdone concepts.

A strong focus on tailoring was evident to which Simons said to Vogue “We need it! We need a new outline. I know I was part of it myself, but too many hoodies with prints! You know, something needs to shift,”. As much as I love hoodies I’m here for this shift.

The show started with oversized Duchesse satin coats in a plethora of colors which were undoubtedly the highlight of his collection; so luxe so dramatic and so brilliant(and an ode to 1980’s Yves Saint Laurent). Almost frumpy-looking Giant sweaters hanging from the model’s body were surprisingly desirable; some sweaters plain, some glittery some with literal neck holes. Impeccably tailored satin suits paired with draggy ill-worn sweaters were looks I didn’t know I could like. Accessories smothered in collaborations resulted in some clean chunky boots and funky bags. And who knew Simon’s could do colors this well; emerald, baby blue, fushia, yellows, and some neutrals.

A seamless blatant blend of streetwear and conventional menswear done right; refined yet sprightly collection and quite a few items for my infinite wishlist. So Thank you, Simons.
