If there was an award for the most Italian collection Roberto Cavalli Spring 2005 would win it. It is the perfect blend of tacky, overdone, and simply amazing while somewhat providing a tropical wardrobe for a cash-loaded Karen.

The collection began with some microscopic bikinis paired with low waist maxi skirts and yes those are Y2K classics but I’m here for it. After a few tropical beachy dresses there came a yellow gown with a substantial cut-out whose pictures pop up every now and then on fashion feeds.

There were of course of deeply hideous looks, a lot of them I imagine were on the moodboard of Sex and the city movie part 2. Then, Isabeli Fontana walked(one of the hottest walks ever) in an iconic red dress; with a sexy cutout snd, a sky-high slit this dress was drenched in sex. The show ended with a series of tiny-flowy dresses that defined the early 2000s and if you didn’t have something like that you are lying.

I feel Cavalli doesn’t get enough credit at times and this collection is a representation of his brazenness and boldness along with a sensible commerciality factor. One of the most ‘Cavalli’ collection by Cavalli this collection does deserve some attention.
