One of Hedi Slimane’s most assuringly smug collection, it embodies all things Slimane. It was all about the 70s(of course) from the aviators to the boot-cut pants. It was commercial and even though it offered nothing remarkable it was delightful to look at all, credit to Slimane’s sense of perfection and assertiveness.

The collection started with a shimmery grey pinstripe suit which is burned into my brain forever. A lot of immaculately fitted denim and a few leather pants were enough to make a guy dream. Be it a silver sequined bomber, classic leather, or a pristine white blazer; the collection covered every kind of jacket or blazer that a person can need. A gold-embroidered cape towards the end was quite a collector’s item and I am here for it, though it could have easily been a fabulous finale look, Slimane betted safe with a bland black tuxedo. The whole mood of this show was rather dull. But I suppose sometimes the most tedious of shows result in items you might actually buy. “I have nostalgia for things I probably have never known” As much as I appreciate this quote putting it on a basket bag didn’t help.

In a collection of 51 looks, we saw 3 models of color which is quite disappointing but not surprising, white super-skinny androgynous is his go-to. His glorified dreamy vision of the past times is somewhat juvenile and simply monotonous. I read somewhere that Slimane makes clothes not fashion and I could not agree more. And yet this will remain of one of my favourite Slimane collections. God! Such a paradox.
