I first heard of Helmut Lang when it was mentioned in Sex in the City and with all its flaws turns out that show was fundamental in fashion for me. Back in 1997 Helmut Land showcased his collection on the Internet and CD-ROMs, he was the first to do so. Mr. Lang said this to Constance White ”I never said this would replace shows. But there are too many and it’s torture for people.” and this still stands to be true. Now instead of shuffling between cabs, people shuffle online due to the pandemic of course. But it is collections like these that make the shuffling worthwhile.

Out of the 81 looks, the collection was all shades of white in the first half and all black in the second Some slouchy but finely tailored suits were sublime and so were the sheer flowy tops and dresses. The show was a flawless embodiment of Lang and this vision. There were a few pristine off-white sweaters and dreamy lime sheer tops paired with tan trousers were quite palatial. Timeless pieces comprised of fur, puffer jackets, leather, and a random pair of bunny ears(gotta say it was hot). Each look is styled in a way that is still relevant today probably more so. A collection that manifests minimalism and luxury and a seamless blend of both.
