This collection was a first for DVN as he had to present his vision through a photoshoot while also mixing men’s and women’s collections. The inspiration was Len Lye‘s work and incorporating it gave the collection a zest and energy that was oozing through the pictures. The collection was shot by Viviane Sassen and she did bring the clothes to life, each picture was painfully wonderful.

The flawlessly captured movement of clothes shows the utility of the clothes along with highlighting the details. A lot of everything! Color, prints, fabrics, textures but in no way does it strike as conventionally maximalist. With all the added visuals, drama, and energy the sheer elegance of DVN stays true to its form. Bermuda shorts, net overlays, stripes, metallics, organza, ruffles, and countless others came together to build a cheery disposition. One look that stayed with me was a satin tie-dye shirt paired with a ruffled skirt, both contrastingly kaleidoscopic.

It was a trippy trip and we tripped.
