This just might be the most brilliant collection by Marc Jacobs. I’ll be honest, I have often felt that the hype around Jacobs isn’t really worth it though his work for Louis Vuitton is fascinating. And I love his Grunge collection for Perry Ellis SS93. But this collection came to my attention again recently, When I first When this collection came out back in 2016 I wasn’t into fashion as I am now so I kind of just rediscovered it. And and I appreciated it more than ever.

So mostly when designers go for a goth look or a specific aesthetic, they overdo it sometimes. Jacobs with exactly that but somehow it came out to be absolutely stunning. The layering was glorious and everything from each look was complementing the outfit well along with the collection as a whole seamlessly. Which I know is a given but Marc did it exceptionally well.

The collection starts and ends with black, comprised of all shades of black greys darkest brown blues, and green. Though there were tiny pops of mauve and green it was basically black. Enormous sweatshirts extravagant coats and a plethora of different textures. There were feathers sequins leather fur and everything you can imagine. The makeup was dark with heavy black eyes, occasional black lipstick, and slick extreme finger waves on each look crafted beautifully. One of the most important aspects of the show were the sky-high heels, and by sky-high I mean just that.

It was goth, dark, vivid, old school, intriguing, impactful, and enchanting. I highly recommend that you also watch the video (linked after the pictures), it will take you someplace else, Let me know your thoughts!
