This literally might be one of my favorite collections of all time. Deeply in love with each look by my fashion goddess Miuccia Prada as this was her final solo collection for the brand with Raf Simons joining as creative director from September. Miuccia Prada has reminded us once again of her genius, collection that is perfect for the current lockdown situation, is commercial, and also summarizes her remarkable work as the sole creative director beautifully.
“I think that our job as fashion designers is to create clothes for people, that is the honesty of it. That is really the value of our job — to create beautiful, intelligent clothes. This season, we focused on that idea: it is about clothes, about giving value to pieces,” Mrs. Prada
Clean lines formed with quintessential Prada silhouettes paired with classic bags and shoes made this collection practical minimal and absolutely incredible with all the Prada signatures in place. With a very basic muted color palette comprised only of black white grey and tiny bits of colors. With Prada nylon dresses, abundant use of the triangle logo over the collection, and coats and skirts that take minimalism to a new level. This collection redefined simplicity and shall be treasured for a long time to come.
“The clothes are simple — but with the concept of simplicity as an antidote to useless complication. This is a moment that requires some seriousness, a moment to think, and to reflect on things. What do we do, what is fashion for, what are we here for? What can fashion contribute, to a community?” Miuccia Prada.
A simple minimal collection with all her signatures is the perfect way to and her legendary solo tenure at Prada.
