Karl did it all, he was extravagant, glamorous, and impactful. From supermarkets to spaceships, icebergs to data centers, his runway sets were as greatly anticipated as the collection itself. He adapted the Chanel classics into trendy and yet somehow timeless pieces. He is regarded as one of the most creative and genius fashion designers of all time.
Chanel Autumn Winter is one of the most special collections to me not because it was particularly very interesting creative or anything but because it was Karl Lagerfeld’s last collection.
The collection started with red black and neutral shades of houndstooth followed by some Chanel suits reimagined in sublime ways. The collection then went on to some much simple and casual outfits and brighter colors. Karl has never been a minimalist and this reflected really well in his bright pink and blue looks and neon jacket paired with colorful striped dresses. Then some gorgeous black looks followed with dramatic capes and various materials. The show ended with while ethereal dresses in the most mesmerizing manner.
With Cara Delevingne opening the show and Kaia Gerber and Penelope Cruz ending the show, the show began with a moment of silence. Karl lager fled is an integral part of Chanel, his work and legacy will live on forever and will continue to define Chanel. Chanel is now defined by two eras Coco Chanel and Karl Lagerfeld.
