Vogue means fashion. Yes, That was literal and metaphorical. First published in 1892 in New York, Vogue has been around for over a century now and over this long long period, there have been countless Vogue covers from all over the world. If I love anything more than a brand new cover, that is a vintage Vogue cover. They represent so much, history, heritage, and a load of creativity. Sometimes I feel that the older covers had so much more newness and story behind them. Don’t get me wrong right now we are living in a world full of extreme creativity and people are brilliantly talented but I’ve just always had a soft spot for anything vintage ( or even just 5 years old lol).

Even if you aren’t into fashion you know that Vogue is one of the most popular and influential magazines, it certainly impacts and reflects a lot of women all over. It reflects the times, cultures, mindsets and so much more about the industry. Vogue is Mecca for People who worship fashion and vogue covers play a pivotal role in Vogue’s success.

Endlessly scrolling through literally anything fashion-related is my guilty pleasure, actually just pleasure. Looking at old cover represent so much, just sitting and trying to understand the meaning behind it. It is almost like a painting, just its quite difficult to find a cover review, unlike paintings. I’ve been doing a lot more of scrolling now, obviously because of COVID 19 quarantine (I hope you all are being safe). And this was the perfect time to sort through my favorite Vogue covers ever!

December 17, 1892, was when the first Vogue was published and thank god for that. Considering this was 128 years ago, it seems wonderful you can see how far-sighted this was. and also the first cover is always amazing

In 1959 Audrey Hepburn graced the cover. This is a simple black and white cover but that is what makes it so interesting. Hepburn was one of the most conventionally beautiful and elegant women of all time and the cover certainly reflects that.

I’m probably gonna say this a lot of this is my ultimate favorite cover or even pictures of all time. The minimalism, message, and motive are so clear.

I love covers that have stories or meaning behind them and this was Donyale Luna in 1945. Luna went on to become the first model of color to star on a Vogue cover

This one is quite interesting, love the colors on this and the outfits which is painted I guess is so freaking cool, reminds me of Michael Kors.

What can I say I have a thing for anything black and white, not that this isn’t amazing.

Now this one is pretty cool, the colors, the idea it all just fits together seamlessly.

This might be the most memorable cover of all time. Anna Wintour’s first cover, the first pair of jeans on Vogue cover and the iconic Christian Lacroix Haute Couture jacket. This cover was quite revolutionary in fashion.

Supermodels, if there ever were any. The originals Naomi Campbell, Linda Evangelista, Tatjana Patitz, Christy Turlington, and Cindy Crawford.

British Vogue does come up with brilliant covers, they are my definite favorite. This Gold issue with Kate Moss was Love.

Is it just me or every cover in the 2000s looked a lot like this. honestly I’m not a huge fan of this one, it is basic but it represents my favorite fashion era so here it is.

Michelle Obama is my goal in every possible way so naturally I was in love with this one. Not every day you see a first lady on the Vogue cover.

Bleached eyebrows, exotic eyes, and finally diversity on British vogue. This was Edward Ennifuls first cover and he certainly made a strong statement on his views on diversity and inclusiveness.

So this cover was released in 2018 and believe it or not it was the first to cover to be shot by an African American. Apparently, Beyonce had enormous creative control over this cover and why wouldn’t she, its Beyonce, This was a historic issue, it was a September issue which we know is the most important.

I have an addiction and it is Vogue. I relate so hard with this one.

1589954715867882-17-01

This one I love because of how natural this is and the fact that everyone is looking at the camera makes it so much better.

1589954707175409-18-01

Yes. Arab girls rock. Period
(And also Vogue Arabia is killing it )

1589955706157536-1-01

This list wouldn’t be complete without Rihanna.
1589955683825984-3-01

Lizzo is love. This is not a creatively genius or anything like that but I really loved it because of its diversity and inclusion. And also you should check out the photoshoot of this issue it’s super hot.

Italy was one of the most impacted countries by COVID 19, in the wake of this situation Vogue Italia released this one. This is one of the most powerful and impactful covers. Even though it is just a blank page, what it represents is glorious.
