The 2000s was the time of our life even though I was mostly in middle school for most of it. It was defined by Paris Hilton, Britney Spears, all the adorable Disney stars and everyone who cringes when they look at their looks from the 2000s. But for me, they were the most iconic fashion years. It was so bad it was good. But now I sit and obsess over the 2000’s and what are the 2000s without its extreme, wild, and ridiculously hot fashion and tacky trends which we all religiously followed. The low waist next to nothing mini skirts, glittery eyeshadow, colorful tracksuits and what not. Find below some of the most iconic trends of the 2000s. Trust me I loved that era but if some(most) of those trends remained history that would be nice.
LOW RISE JEANS: what were the 2000s without low rise jeans. For me, this was one of the most recognizable and iconic trends of all time. I never the confidence to actually wear them though whenever I saw strutting around in them it would give me life.

TRACKSUITS: pink, hot pink, baby pink, blue, red, yellow, green and every possible color you can imagine. We had tracksuits in all of them. They had to be low waist obviously, personalized and it helps if you had an accessory dog.

EMBELLISHMENTS: Everything was embellished in the 2000s. Clothes, shoes, Phones, notebooks, bags everything.

CRIMPED HAIR: I remember my friend had a crimper and then she became my best friend (lol jk). But if you didn’t go to a party with crimped hair did you even go?

BLUE EYESHADOW: blue eyes were the thing. Now we do it all professionally but back then all we had those tiny plastic brushes. And when we felt wild we went for GLITTER BLUE.

BELTS: Belts are fine but the belts that are completely useless are not. Stringy belts, huge belts, embellished belts, belts with enormous buckles and all kinds you can possibly imagine. And you could also wear them as a waist chain

SHRUGS: Shrugs served no purpose at all. I can’t fathom what we were thinking. Trust me I had every kind of shrug possible and I wore them with everything.

LIP GLOSS: There are two rules to live by rule 1: Carry your lip gloss everywhere. Rule 2: 17 layers of lipgloss was absolutely necessary. (and if you lined your lips with the darkest shade you have voila your lips are done)

STREAKS: Avril Lavigne comes to mind when I think of streaks. It was basically you had two different sets of hair, not that it wasn’t super cool. And if you couldn’t color your hair there were clip-on streaks.

MINI SKIRTS: Miniskirts were super hot, though my parents never let me wear them. The trend wasn’t just plain miniskirts, the skirts were literally non-existent, it’s basically a piece of fabric wrapped around your crotch.

DRESSES WITH JEANS: Do not deny, I know all of you wore dresses with jeans(and probably with a shrug).
