All about Paris Fashion Week Fall Winter 2020

SAINT LAURENT: Saint Laurent had some really interesting looks this season and a lot fewer sequins thank god. The latex was done cleanly in a great range of colors and it basically looked like a second skin. We actually have been seeing a lot of latex this season, a bit surprising but it’s okay. Be it pants, skirts dresses it was everywhere. The collection had some Beautifully tailored blazers is gorgeous colors. Overall the collection had some great pieces.

BALMAIN: Balmain was powerful but also a bit blah. There was one decent look which was a latex suit that Kim Kardashian already wore. So nothing that great really though the jackets were nice

VALENTINO: The collection was dominated by black looks this season with a tiny pop of Valentino red. This is especially surprising considering how colorful and bright the Couture collection was. The black looks were done beautifully and the red ones were great too. The final evening wear looks were clearly not up to the Valentino mark. Pierpaolo is a genius that is clearly reflected in his Couture collection but it never matches up in Ready to wear. The collection was good great in fact but I guess the expectations were too high.

OFF WHITE: Off white sadly was just off. The hoddie+tulle gowns looks were probably supposed to be the highlight but they were just not good, the most decent one was the black one worn by Bella Hadid. The rest of the looks I don’t even care to remember.

GIVENCHY: One of Clare’s better RTW collection, she is a Couture wonder but most of the time RTW is not as good. This one was, the collection had some gorgeous looks. The leather gloves were beautiful, the feathers were exquisite and the hats were out of this world.

STELLA MCCARTNEY: This Stella collection was stellar, okay sorry for the shitty pun. But the clothes were a dream. Simple, elegant and modern. Obviously, not all shows have all perfect looks but this one had some really pretty ones, Really impressed with this one.

CELINE: I’m sorry but do we even need to talk about this. It was one of the worst this season. I understand it might have had some pieces that will sell well. But no Nah I cant. Blazers were good and simple very Parisian though, the whole collection actually. It was all Jeans and blazers, trust me I love that kinda look but not when it’s majority of the 111 looks.

DIOR: I can’t deal with MGC’s Dior anymore. Last Couture collection was somewhat decent but it’s getting kinda boring,  trust me I tried liking it. Some looks had potential but overall it all just didn’t work. Some of the all-black looks were okay-ish but basic. I actually feel bad about writing shit about CHRISTAIN DIOR but what to do.

NINA RICCI: Nina Ricci was wonderful, I feel brands like Ricci, Lanvin, and even Mugler are getting better with each season. There were some beautiful looks, most of them actually. The cropped blazers, the hats, the colors were all beautiful. One of the favourites this season.

HERMES: The collection was a lot of fun actually, the all-white looks with the use of primary colors (red blue and yellow). The leather was used beautifully, especially the pleated skirts and the pants that were tailored to perfection. The black and tan looks were pretty interesting.

DRIES VAN NOTEN: DVN was hot. Some wonderful colors and prints. I could easily forget the initial looks in shades of green but as the collection went on I saw some magical looks in blues and purples. The finale black look was so hot I wanna die. And is it just me or did you all also notice a bit of Christian Lacroix in his collection still? I’m still not over that collection for real but we try to move on with each season.

LANVIN: Lanvin was one of my favorites this Paris fashion week. It was so elegant and French and simply beautiful. It was the best by the brand in a long time. I’m literally speechless it was gorgeous.

MUGLER: Mugler had some truly sexy looks, like REALLY sexy looks. The all-leather looks were so hot and the cutouts were beautifully done. The sheer bodysuits were fire overall YES it was hot. It could have been done a bit more neatly, especially the finale look donned by Bella Hadid looks clumsy at its best. But it was a good collection.

BALENCIAGA: The Balenciaga set design is clearly going viral and why shouldn’t it, it was wonderful. It wasn’t the first show models have walked on water but it is certainly going to be one of the most memorable shows for in recent times.  Demna’s work is certainly making a mark. The exaggerated pointed shoulders were so freaking amazing, be it on the dresses or blazers. loved all of them. This season most of the shows had a lot of all black looks, Balenciaga’s were hands down the best ones. Demna even called it the blackest show he ever did.

GIAMBATTISTA VALLI: A lot less tulle this season but some good looks were served. The collection overall reminded of a 2000s Couture collection not sure why. It had some interesting elements but fell flat. There were two feathered skirt suits in pink and black which I absolutely loved. It was a fun young collection.

CHLOE: Chloe was nice. Not sure if that’s an appropriate review but it was just nice. The dresses were gorgeous and the suits were basic but good. Nothing that great, not bad.

ALEXANDER MCQUEEN: Some beautiful looks by Sarah, though I have noticed her collections are quite similar, all great though. The blazers and suits were so beautifully done. the red hair was a pleasing and the red-black looks towards the end were beautiful as well. Though I would like more extravagant, dramatic, and out of the world collections since that’s what still comes to mind when I hear McQueen. Overwhelm us please.

LOUIS VUITTON: One of the most disappointing collectins of this season, not that I expect much from Louis Vuitton but anyway, it just looked like a cheap Richard Malone inspired show.

MIU MIU: Miu Miu was so cute, Miss Prada is a genius. With each show I fall in love with her a little more, Both of her collections(Prada and Miu Miu) are pure magic, I would wear the hell out of these clothes. The fuzzy trenches, the plaid looks, and the flirty little bodysuits. A fun collection of gorgeous clothes.

CHANEL: Chanel was a lot better this season. Virginie Viard is growing on me, her last 3 collections(including this) have been surprisingly wonderful, This one had some gorgeous looks, the pistachio green used was so so beautiful. It was reminiscent of a Karl collection in some ways, subtle ways. Even though I  really liked the collection, nothing really stood out for me, no such look. A lot of black and white, though we saw a little less of ‘the Chanel suits’ but honestly I’m still not over the low waist looks from prefall 20.

LOEWE: Jonathan Anderson does do wonders with Loewe and with his namesake brand as well. Such a calming and serene collection. I liked all the looks for real. Not that they are particularly interesting or unique they were just true to the brand and beautifully done.

RICK OWENS: A strong collection, a hot one as well, loved the color palette. They looked right out of a post-apocalyptic movie. Loves the jackets and the cutout dresses, the sunglasses were hot.
