All about Milan Fashion Week Fall Winter 2020

GUCCI: Alessandro Michele described this collection as ” An unrepeatable ritual”. I had to go through this collection many many times to figure out how I feel about it and I’m not sure I have yet. It was vintage, it was Modern, it was goth, it was hippie and so much more. It had a lot of elements. If I look at each look it was pretty okay-ish but the vibe and the feel was something else.  Some looks were delicate and some were rough and(in a good way) though the bags were super cute. Let me know what you think.

JIL SANDER: One of the favorites this season. Jil Sander was clean, minimal and beautiful. Every look I saw I wanted, no actually needed in my closet. There are a lot of brands that explore minimalism but no was does it like Jil Sander. The fringe dresses, the fuzzy off-white trench, the beautifully tailored suits. It’s quite difficult to choose a favorite look yellow shawl-cape look that is a winter essential that I need.

VERSACE: Was it just me or Versace seemed a bit off this season. It seems a bit flimsy and undone. We simply expect better from Donatella. They tried to do a lot and it all just fell flat. The all-black looks were not as good as the last spring-summer. The half-decent looks were a neon pink pinstripe suit and a silver-metallic cocktail dress worn by Kendall Jenner.

BOTTEGA VENETA: Bottega was heavenly. No one does accessories like Daniel Lee. His bags were beautiful and are definitely gonna keep the BV hype soaring. Though I’m not the biggest fan of his clothes, I do think he’s getting better with each season. The sequined looks this time were sublime, they almost reminded me of Valentino Haute Couture looks form SS20. The pop of lime green was so so good. The suits were done Beautifully so were the trenches. The shimmery flowy dresses were an epitome of comfort and sexy and luxury all rolled in one. There was a lot of fringe and I ain’t complaining. Overall it was wonderful.

ALBERTA FERRETTI: A surprisingly strong collection by Ferretti. How gorgeous was it? the all-black looks were beautiful times a hundred. The casual use of leather was sublime and the tailoring was so clean. The random colorful looks were I guess supposed to be fun I guess but the colors were simply just off, individually the pieces were great but not the whole look.

MOSCHINO: I wonder how Jeremy Scott does such magnificent work for Moschino but not the same for his own namesake brand. Coming to the collection, it was beautiful. The cake dresses were absolutely ridiculous and wonderful, I can totally picture Katy Perry rocking those looks not sure why. The colors were so so pretty and vivid. The hairdos were pretty cute. There were a few super colorful looks in a velvety brocade material which were so so good. The final white bridal-esqe dress was so damn cute. Overall a pretty amazing collection

PRADA: Prada was sublime. Miuccia Prada is a GENIUS. This will probably be her second last solo collection as Raf Simons is joining were as a creative director at Prada. But let’s talk about the collection. The bags were adorable, the fringe embellished skirts are here to stay and the fluffy colorful jackets were elegant utilitarian at its best. The workwear and the more formal looks reminded me of Miranda from Sex and the city, she was always my favorite. Her style wasn’t really considered fashion-forward at the time but it was what a woman actually wears, and so was Prada made for today’s woman.

MARNI: Marni was better than I expected, some of the looks were beautiful. The patchwork sweater dresses were so so good. The beauty looks were fantastic, the hair was so hot. It had a few Beautiful trenches. The boho look was definitely quite modern, the colors were pretty. Though some of the looks seemed like they were trying too hard, kind id fell flat but still, it was good. A lot of potential for sure.

SALVATORE FERRAGAMO: Ferragamo was sexythis year. The leather looks were Devine, especially the shirts, there was this maroon leather jumpsuit which was simply gorgeous. The embroidered knit sweaters were super cute and the boots were great too. And there was this dusty blue satin look which was so elegant so pretty and so Ferragamo.

FENDI: Silvia Venturini Fendi has done wonders with the brand, this season she played with the plus sizes and the ‘curvy woman’. Though the collection had some spectacular looks, though some of them were pretty okay though the good ones overruled. the one thing I remember vividly was the extravagant sleeves and exquisite leatherwork. We saw a little less fur this time than usual, all I am hoping is maybe this is a move towards sustainability. The final sheer and satin looks were an epitome of elegance.
